What should be secured during renovation work?
Handles: for standard windows, we recommend pulling the handles or covering them with a protective film. This will prevent them from getting damaged or dirty during the work.
Sliding windows (HST/SMART-SLIDE/PSK): Due to the delicacy of the sliding mechanisms and guides, we recommend completely removing the handles and avoiding the use of sliding doors during renovation. Using these doors can cause damage to the guides, which may later result in problems opening or closing the window.
Window sills: they should be properly protected, preferably using protective film or thick paper, which will protect them from scratches and dirt.
Glass: to prevent damage, it is recommended to protect them with a special protective film or painter's tape, which is easy to remove and does not leave marks.
Opening mechanisms: Locks, hinges and other mechanisms can become contaminated by dust or paint. Covering them with foil or tape can prevent them from being blocked or damaged.
Gaskets: They are sensitive to dust and other debris that can interfere with their ability to seal a window tightly. Protecting them from dust and construction debris is important to maintain their effectiveness.
